The students who graduated from the tourist guidance program will be able to become a professional tourist guide licensed from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism if they participate in total of 36 day practice trips organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism or trade associations and pass the foreign language proficiency exam

One of the biggest complaints of shortcomings of the travel agencies in Turkey is not being able to find a sufficient number of tourist guides. Turkey welcomes millions of foreign tourists every year and also millions of domestic tourists participate in touristic activities in the country, and tourism plays a very important role in the country's economy. As required by law, there is no chance of making a tour without a tour guide, which raises the need for a great deal of tour guides.
